The first experience with imagery and movement starts as soon as the students enter the dance studio, gradually developing in to different types and categories. I want to speak of anatomical and metaphorical imagery as the initiation of the understanding of the most important tool each student already posesses - The Physical body.
Imagery as a preparation in to learning a dance technique, as a process in learning a dance technique, and the development and refinement of one´s individual movement language. I will categorize imagery in different types and apply it in specific situations using my research as wells my own experience as a student, a professional dancer and now as a teacher.
