- Augmented reality (AR) offers new possibilities for sound designers to create audio only applications. This thesis examines the sonic potential that the sport of running offers for such applications. A prototype is presented by discussing the technical and artistic requirements as well as describing the practical implementation. Finally, example scenes are discussed to illustrate the prototype. carolin bodensteiner (sie/ihr; eng. they/them) studiert theaterregie an der zhdk, vorher auch schon soziologie/philosophie und theaterpädagogik an der uni potsdam und uni der künste berlin. ihr geht’s unter anderem gerade darum: künstlerische tätigkeit als politische praxis ~ theater als schauplatz und probierfeld für gemeinsames ~ dass es nicht so bleiben muss, wie es ist.
DIPLOMPROJEKT
Europa, 2024. Vor einem Kunstmuseum steht ein schweres bronzenes Tor. Seit Jahren gehegt und gepflegt hält es jeder Witterung stand. Es ist das Tor zur Hölle. Monumental und doch oftmals unbemerkt markiert es den Eintritt in den Untergrund europäischer Kunstinstitutionen bestehend aus Austellungsräumen, Archiven und Depots. Doch wie ein Tor öffnen, das keine Klinke besitzt? Wie hindurchschreiten, wenn die Türen fest verriegelt sind? Und wie kam dieses Tor überhaupt hierher?
Keeping the Gates widmet sich dem Öffnen von Verschlossenem, dem Bewachen von Eingängen und dem Verfolgen von Verwischtem. Die multimediale Performance schaut hinter glatte Rigipswände sowie unter staubfreie Oberflächen, beschwört Hexen, seziert Krankheiten und begegnet Kälte mit Gemeinschaftlichkeit.

- In recent years, exhibition-making has increasingly engaged with concepts of care, kinship, and restorative interventions. In her Master’s thesis, Leonie Bremser examines contemporary artistic and curatorial practices that work with community-building and participatory approaches, drawing on moments of healing or ecological insights through indigenous knowledge production or ancient rituals. Informed by queer feminist and decolonial perspectives and against the backdrop of the convergence of pressing global crises, these practices aim to challenge oppressive power structures and to raise awareness of our interdependent relationships with other living beings and the earth. Bremser explores how these concerns can be implemented in curatorial practice; for example, by making a diverse cultural program accessible to a broad audience or by creating meeting spaces that enable sensory experiences of togetherness and solidarity. Through her approach she also questions the potential of the museum space.

- «Sicher haben wir uns noch etwas zu sagen, wir sind ja immer noch wir.» Diese Behauptung der Ich-Erzählerin zieht sich durch Ava Slappnigs Erzählung «Flaum». Darin fahren zwei junge Frauen für ein Wochenende gemeinsam in die Berge; in eine Ferienwohnung, die beide aus ihrer Kindheit kennen. Ist das der Beginn der Wiederbelebung einer Freundschaft? Die Protagonistinnen schaukeln durch die Tage, besuchen altbekannte Orte, reden wenig und schweigen viel. «Flaum» fragt danach, was mit uns und unseren Beziehungen passiert, wenn wir erwachsen werden; wie wir erinnern und verdrängen, woran wir festhalten und wovon wir uns lösen.
