- Nadir arbeitet als Putzkraft in einem Zürcher Bürogebäude. Trotz des harten, nächtlichen Berufes ist er bemüht sich in der Schweiz zu integrieren und seinem Sohn Babak eine bessere Zukunft zu ermöglichen. Als er in einer Nacht nach Hause kommt findet er jedoch das Zimmer des Sohnes leer vor. Im Papierkorb entdeckt er einen zerknüllten Brief der Universität, im Schreibtisch ein zerrissenes Erinnerungsfoto und einen Koran. Als Babak nach Hause kommt konfrontiert ihn der Vater mit seinem Fund und entdeckt dabei einen Sinneswandel, den er nie für möglich gehalten hat.

- Hanna hat sich fast mit ihrem Leben als Dauergast auf dem Campingplatz abgefunden. Als ihr Ehemann Klemens eines Abends wieder gewalttätig wird, entscheidet sie sich ihr Leben für immer zu ändern. Hanna möchte Klemens vergiften und dadurch endlich aus dem ewigen Machtkampf, welchen die beiden eine Beziehung nennen, entfliehen. Unerwartet klopft es dann an der Türe. Die merkwürdigen Besucher treten ein und verändern damit Hannas Pläne.

- Ein Ausschaffungsgefängnis am Zürcher Flughafen. Als Teil der Gefängnisgruppe des Solinetzes besucht die Regisseurin regelmässig die Inhaftierten, die auf ihre Ausschaffung warten. Die Kamera darf nicht in das Gefängnis, doch durch das Erzählen öffnet sich der Blick auf das Schicksal der Gefangenen.
