                Die in sieben Abschnitten vertonte mythologische Ikarus-Geschichte "l'Envol d'Icare" erfuhr mehrere Fassungen, bis Igor Markevitch die Komposition für zwei Klaviere und Schlagzeug umarbeitete. Béla Bartók, der Markevitch für "the most striking personality in contemporary music" hielt, schuf seine "Sonate für zwei Klaviere und Schlagzeug" 1937. Die beiden Trouvaillen in ungewöhnlicher Besetzung werden von vier Virtuosen ihres Fachs interpretiert - unbedingt sehens- und hörenswert!
