Description	Das Stereotyp: ein vereinfachendes, verallgemeinerndes Urteil über sich, andere oder eine Sache; ein festes, klischeehaftes Bild. Die Installation «Stereotopia» entstand im Rahmen eines Bachelorprojekts. Die Autorin beschäftigt die Wirkung von Stereotypisierung auf das Individuum und der mögliche Umgang der Betroffenen damit. Betrachter/innen begeben sich in die Rolle des Voyeurs und sollen dadurch die eigenen Stereotypen befragen. «Stereotopia» ist zudem ein Rückblick, Blick und Ausblick auf die Konsequenzen, welche die Stereotypisierung von Menschen haben kann. Bis in die dreissiger Jahre existierten noch Völkerschauen. Im Zoo Basel wurden exotische «Lippennegerinnen» ausgestellt, übersexualisiert und als dem Tier näher als dem Menschen beschrieben. Auch heutzutage kann man in China aufs Land fahren, um dort die ländliche Bevölkerung und ihre Traditionen anzuschauen. Die Grenze zwischen Tourismus und Völkerschau verschwimmt. Die aktuelle xenophobe Stimmungslage in Europa und Amerika wirft Fragen auf bezüglich der Folgen, welche sture, stereotype Denkmuster in unserer Gesellschaft haben werden.
