      • Daut, ein Überlebender eines Kriegsmassakers, bei dem sein Sohn getötet wurde, schreibt seit 20 Jahren an einem Brief, um in Den Hague auszusagen, was an jenem Tag geschehen war.
 Die Last der Erinnerungen wiegt umso schwerer, als sein Bruder stirbt und er zum letzten Überlebenden diesen Tages wird. Sein Verstand beginnt ihn bei wichtigen Details im Stich zu lassen.
 Er kriegt es mit der Angst zu tun. Wird er je Gerechtigkeit für seinen Sohn erwirken können? Für seinen Bruder? Für seine Freunde? Werden ihm die Toten je verzeihen, falls er aufgeben muss und in Vergessenheit gerät?
