        Speziell, bemerkenswert, herausragend, aussergewöhnlich, gut und überraschend: «ZHdK Highlights 2017_All_over_Toni» zeigt ausgewählte studentische Arbeiten des zurückliegenden Studienjahres – für die grössere Öffentlichkeit, aber auch um den Diskurs innerhalb der ZHdK über den Stellenwert der Künste und des Designs in der und für die Gesellschaft voranzubringen.
        Qualität an sich gibt es nicht. Dennoch gibt es einen Qualitätsdiskurs: es gibt gesellschaftliche, ästhetische und politische Ver handlungen der Wissens- und Kulturproduktion, die abhängig sind von ihren geo-grafischen und biografischen Standorten und Positionen. Besonders im Kontext von Auszeichnung und Exzellenz finden diese Dichotomi-en einen konkret definierten und institutionalisierten Raum. Wir, das Ku ra torium, haben früh die Entscheidung getroffen, genau diese An-sprüche und Widersprüche, diese Herausforderungen der Aufgabe zum Ausgangspunkt zu machen, – und haben in der internen Anfrage nach Nominationen durch Dozierende und Mitarbeitende, das Inter-esse des Kuratoriums an Vorgängen von Ein- und Ausschlüssen selbst kommuniziert.
        Anwesenheit und Abwesenheit, Teilhabe und Isolation, Distinktion und Diskretion; die Resonanz in Bezug auf dieses Themenfeld war überra-schend und überraschend gross. Wir haben daraus nicht ausschliesslich, aber gerne künstlerische Arbeiten und Design, Präsentationen und Aufführungen gewählt, die mit den gesellschaftlichen, ästhetischen und politischen Mechanismen von Ein- und Ausschlüssen operieren und auch deshalb die Grenzen der Disziplinen hintergehen, befragen – und öffnen.
        ZHdK Highlights 2017: ein Diskurs um Grenzziehungen innerhalb der Institution und der Gesellschaft.
