Mit dem Ziel, ein konkretes Forschungs- und Lehrfeld für regenerative Themen zu kreieren, hat die Autorin das Projekt «FHNW ImFreien» lanciert, das kollaborative und partizipative Ansätze nutzt, um den FHNW Campus Brugg-Windisch – als Pilotprojekt – in eine regenerative Landschaft zu transformieren.* Über verschiedene Aktionen, Labs und Initiativen beziehen die Studierenden, Mitarbeitenden und Aussenstehenden das gesamte Umfeld in die Umwandlung mit ein: Menschen, Tiere, Pflanzen, Pilze und Moose. Im Rahmen des CAS Tansforming Space wurden folgende Aktivitäten verstärkt: Online-Plattformen, Medienarbeit; Vernetzung, sichtbare Anerkennung der Beteiligten und qualitativer Output der Aktionen, Labs und Initiativen.

- Die «Vision der Schweizer Armee» ist ein auf langfristige Wirkung ausgerichteter Veränderungsprozess, der das Ziel hat, die Armee und die Militärverwaltung auf die zukünftigen Bedrohungen in einem sich vielfältig verändernden Umfeld auszurichten und die Positionierung der Armee als Institution und als Arbeitgeber weiter zu verbessern. Zur Umsetzung zählt die Entwicklung neuer Arbeitsplatzmodelle, die ein ortsunabhängiges Arbeiten und den Austausch zwischen Fach- und Organisationsgruppen ermöglichen könnten. Co-Working-Spaces würden die Vernetzung zwischen den Organisationseinheiten unterstützen und die Kosten senken. Sie würden darüber hinaus das Bedürfnis nach flexiblen Arbeitsorten und Treffpunkten von Angestellten des Bundes und Milizangehörigen der Armee erfüllen. Diese Treffpunkte ermöglichen den Austausch mit der Bevölkerung und bekräftigen die Positionierung der Gesamtorganisation als inklusiver Austausch-, Ausbildungs-, und Arbeitsort im Sinne der Vision und Strategie Gruppe Verteidigung und Schweizer Armee. Mit der hier vorliegenden Arbeit legt der Autor das entsprechende Konzept für derartige Co-Working-Spaces vor.

- Abstract:
In recent years, Dolby Atmos has become a mainstream technology no longer exclusive to movie theaters. The endorsement by large corporations such as Apple, Amazon, Disney+, Netflix and Tidal has made the technology a widely available consumer format for film and music content. There are however differences between consumer and cinematic Dolby Atmos setups that have an impact on playback.
The production of an immersive concert video with the ensemble Nik Bärtsch’s Mobile is used as an example to show potential challenges when working with coherent multichannel signals in different setups. This thesis explores recording and mixing approaches to facilitate the accurate playback of object bed-based audio on various systems and suggests workflow adaptations to enhance compatibility when working in this format.

Julián Ignacio Garcés hat Opernregie am Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón und Kostümdesign an der Universität von Buenos Aires studiert. Als vielseitiger Künstler hat er im Laufe seiner Karriere in Argentinien und Europa in den Bereichen Theater, Oper, Tanz und Design gearbeitet. Zu seinen Produktionen gehören die Inszenierung der Weltpremiere der Oper Felicidad (CETC Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, 2023), die Inszenierung der Performance Elegías (Festival Liedrezital, Zürich, 2023); die Regie der lateinamerikanischen Erstaufführung von Mitridate, Rè di Ponto für die Ópera de Cámara del Teatro Colón (2019); die Inszenierung der Kinderoper Hänsel und Gretel für das Complejo Teatral de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (2019) und die Inszenierung der Oper Don Juan, Gewinner des Primer Concurso de Nueva Ópera (Primer Festival de Nueva Ópera, Buenos Aires, 2016). Er war Co-Direktor des Ensembles Sol Lírica, einer Referenz der freien argentinischen Lyrikszene.
DIPLOMPROJEKT
Sarah Kane war Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts nahezu ihrer Zeit voraus: Sie schrieb Stücke, die sich durch eine emotionale Rohheit auszeichnen, die uns ebenso verblüfft wie die vernichtenden Leiden der Depression, die sie quälten. Ihre pornografische Verbalisierung menschlicher Emotionen schafft es, sich zu einer Klangtextur zu verwandeln, die unsere Anatomie durchdringt und in unserem tiefsten Inneren widerhallt. Wie bei einer Symphonie ist es nicht notwendig, das Gehörte zu "verstehen", es genügt, sich ihm hinzugeben und es zu fühlen. Und so ist es, dass die wahre Kraft ihrer Texte in der Musikalität liegt: Was ihre Worte übermitteln, geht über den Diskurs hinaus und wird zu einem überwältigenden Gefühlszustand, der die Körper der Zuschauer ergreift und sie in ihren Körper versetzt.

- “Sortir Au Jour” (Coming Forth By Day) is a video installation gathering two films of 45 minutes, which tells the story of a world slowly loosing its structure. This artistic production is the fruit of a research in which I do a crossed reading of two narratives: The funerary rites of ancient Egypt on the one hand, and the concept of thermodynamic entropy on the other. This crossed reading constitutes the transdisciplinary shift of the project, in that I learn from both mythological and scientific disciplines and their respective methods in order to extract and shape a third narrative; the research of a scientific understanding and the moral conceptions from ancient Egypt are redirected towards the creation of a model of poetic nature. Playing with concepts of unicity, duality and multiplicity, of sameness and otherness, “Sortir Au Jour” proposes the hypothesis of a tendency towards an undifferentiated state, which would take place in both physical and metaphysical worlds. The transdisciplinary approach which builds the narrative is combined with a multidisciplinary practice which gathers sound art, text, dance, performance and sculpture, all of them included within the video format.

- Meine Masterarbeit beschäftigt sich nun mit dem Phänomen der Gedankenverlorenheit in Alltagssituationen und während Alltagshandlungen. Gehen, Zug fahren, abwaschen, einschlafen – Situationen und Handlungen, in und mit welchen viele von uns täglich Zeit verbringen. Was denken wir dabei? Und denken wir immer an etwas? Die Arbeit untersucht die Beziehung zwischen implizitem Wissen, Routinen und dem Zustand des sich Verlierens in den eigenen Gedanken. Dabei bezieht sie sich auf Michael Polanyis Theorie des impliziten Wissens und auf das Alltagsverständnis von Michel de Certeau, welcher den Alltag eher als innere Stimme definiert und nicht wie Erwing Goffmann als Arena von Interaktionen, in welcher das Selbst in verschiedenen Rollen agiert. Die schriftliche und die praktische Arbeit umfassen Interviews mit Personen aus verschiedenen beruflichen und geographischen Kontexten, welche Einblicke in ihre Erfahrungen und Definitionen dieses Zustands geben. Die Ergebnisse beleuchten die verschiedenen Interpretationen und Beschreibungen des Phänomens der Gedankenverlorenheit, die spezifischen Alltagssituationen und räumlichen Stimmungen, die es begünstigen, und die Rolle von implizitem Wissen und Routinen bei der Ermöglichung dieses Zustands. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, zu einem besseren Verständnis der nuancierten Bedeutung der Gedankenverlorenheit und des impliziten Wissens in unserem täglichen Leben beizutragen.

On Burnout

- In recent decades, the phenomenon of burnout has received extensive research within social sciences and medicine understood as a psychological syndrome due to work-related stress. However, other formulations of burnout exist that came to light during the pandemic, particularly those not tied to waged-work and the increasing sense of burnout as a ‘social mood’ rather than only an individual affliction. In a post-pandemic world there is an urgency to broadening the understanding of burnout as it has evolved over the past three years. This study takes the experience of burnout as an entry point into a multi-faceted analysis of contemporary culture. Limitations of previous studies relegating burnout to only the psychological or workplace-based leave gaps calling for a research of the phenomenon’s psychosomatic aspects that take seriously the body as a producer of knowledge, and interrogations into its different iterations and variety of circumstances it is arising from–immigrant burnout or institutional burnout to name but two. This study uses artistic and transdisciplinary research methods to expand readings of burnout and understand its evolving status post-pandemic and as an en masse or collective feeling. Practice-based and theory-merged research methodologies, tools, instruments and devices are described reflectively in the contexts, happenings, and interventions of their application. The result is both an expanded understanding of the burnout phenomenon and the potential of transdisciplinary approaches to increase and deepen understanding, account for the previously unaccounted details, and open up new insights and ways of knowing. This fresh look at burnout provides new entry points to understanding a growing sense of social exhaustion that implicates body, mind, and a range of cultural, economic, and socio-political factors that is no longer limited to work-place complaints or psychological syndrome.

- Through this project, WATERING, I tried to construct a language that proposes to perceive human bodies as bodies of water & part of the landscape. In this process, the Marmara Sea was the body of water that grounded and situated my practice and I developed an artistic methodology that carries certain qualities and sensitivities to attend, embody, and communicate with the landscapes and our surroundings in an intimate way thanks to this sea. There wasn't an intention of mastering, but getting closer and tender through artistic practice to shift our approach to bodies of water, climate crisis, our surroundings and the weather. So, in this book, one could encounter the possible acts of repair in the face of the climate crisis and human exceptionalism through a visual and written language that has multiple perspectives and embodies questions about the Anthropocene with an eco-feminist focus.

- Jehisson Santacruz offers us an alive work which contains audio, video, reading, forum, cooking experiences within a transmedial documentation. Santacruz investigates a futuristic aesthetic towards overcoming the current frameworks of power and social relationship and in trying to gamify in his work, he wants to redefine the ties between oppressor-oppressed. This finds its place in the space of creation and cooperation that the author defends in his thesis about community pedagogies, in a synthesis around the community conceptions of sovereignty, peace building, social organisation and good living, in a museological, local and decision-making environments. To approach this in a profound way, the artist has published the book "The Art of Communities Pedagogies as an emancipation and resilience of people: Approaches to an Indigenous Futurism" 2023.

- Zwei Landschaften in zwei verschiedenen Ländern. Beide hatten über Äonen hinweg ihr eigenes Dasein. Heute teilen sie sich den Raum, geben ihr Innerstes und ihr Äusserstes ab. Stück für Stück wird von ihnen abgetragen, sie bekommen eine neue Identität und eine neue Funktion, Zuspruch, Bewunderung und vielleicht auch Ehrfurcht.
Sie werden verwundet, kommen in den Kreislauf, werden transformiert und generieren eine teils groteske, teils widersprüchliche Ästhetik.
Beim Wandeln, fasziniert sein, sich Zeit nehmen, verweben sich Gespräche, Geschriebenes, Gefilmtes.
