Description	BIOGRAFIE Sophie Schmid ist auf einem Bauernhof im Jura geboren und aufgewachsen. Sie ist ausgebildete Schneiderin und absolvierte erfolgreich ihren Bachelor in Bühnenbild an der ZHdK ab. Sie arbeitet in verschiedenen Theaterkollektiven wie Besili Trafic, L'actif Posthelvtia oder Material für die Nächste Schicht. DIPLOMPROJEKT The Last and the First Ones begleitet ausgehend vom Artensterben die vielen Lebewesen auf ihren letzten Gängen und versucht mit absurd-sinnlichem Theater, die Verzweiflung auf den Komposthaufen zu werfen und in Hoffnung zu transformieren. Dazu werden mythische Traditionen mit zeitgenössischen Theaterformen zu einem komisch-poetischen Theaterritual vermischt. Sophie Schmid arbeitet bei der Arbeit zusammen mit dem Kollektiv «Matrial für die Nächste Schicht (MfdnS)» der von Stefan Ebner gegründet worden ist und sich das Kompostieren als Theaterpraxis zu eigen gemacht hat. Kompostiert wird, was sich grade finden lässt und eine Umwandlung vertragen kann. Was dabei entsteht, ist assoziativ, kreativ, freiheitsliebend, chaotisch und wird den Zuschauer:innen zur freien Verfügung gestellt.
