- Inmitten der steilen Hänge des Maggiatals leben sie. Sie, die den Traum von einem anderen, einfacheren Leben haben. Im Laufe der Jahre haben sie die ungenutzten Ställe in einfache Unterkünfte umgebaut, die unzähligen Trockenmauern restauriert und bewirtschaften nun das terrassierte Gelände so, wie es einst die einheimischen Tessiner getan haben. Seit 20 Jahren ist das Projekt namens „Pianta Monda“ im Aufbau. „Das einfache Leben“ gibt Einblick in eine Gemeinschaft, die einen Gegenentwurf zur verschwenderischen Konsumgesellschaft lebt.
In the midst of the steep slopes of the Maggia Valley they live. They who have a dream of a different life, a more simple life. Through the years they have rebuilt old empty stables into simple housing. They restored the dry walls and started farming on the terraced land. Like the indigenous Ticinesi used to do. The project 'Pianta Monda' has been active for the last 20 years. 'The simple life' gives an insight into a society that lives in complete polar opposite of today’s wasteful consumer society.

- Mit 19 Jahren fand Armin seine Adoptionspapiere. Noch im selben Jahr reiste er nach Indonesien, um seine leibliche Mutter zu treffen. Sein leiblicher Vater aber verschwand vor langer Zeit.
Sechs Jahre später beschliesst Armin mit zwei Freunden seinen Vater zu suchen. Ob sie erfolgreich sind, hängt stark von der Hilfsbereitschaft von Armins Familie ab, die er erst zum zweiten Mal trifft. Seine leibliche Mutter aber ist von dem Plan nicht begeistert. So wird die Reise nicht nur zu einer Suche nach Armins Vater, sondern auch zu einer Auseinandersetzung mit seiner Familie und deren Vergangenheit.
At 19, Armin discovered his adoption documents by accident. The same year he went to Indonesia to see his birth mother for the first time. But his birth father had disappeared a long time ago.
Six years later Armin travels to Indonesia with two friends to find his birth father. Whether they succeed or not highly depends on the helpfulness of Armin’s family, which he only meets for the second time. His mother, however, is not happy about his plan. Therefore the journey becomes not only a search for Armin’s father but also a conflict with his family and its past.

The Masterpiece

- Susie zweifelt an ihrem Talent als Jungkünstlerin. Ganz im Gegensatz dazu malt ihr älterer Nachbar Herr Behrman kontinuierlich an seinem Meisterwerk.
Nach einer Auseinandersetzung versucht Behrman der jungen Susie zu beweisen, was ihr als Künstlerin wirklich noch fehlt. Wird sie auf ihn hören? Basierend auf einer Kurzgeschichte des amerikanischen Autors O'Henry spielt dieser Film in einer leisen Welt voller Nostalgie.
Susie has increasing doubts about her talent as a young artist. Her elderly neighbor Mr. Behrman, on the other hand, is convinced that he is going to produce a masterpiece. After a disagreement, Behrman tries to prove to Susie that she is missing one essential quality of a true artist. Will she listen to him? Based on a short story by the American author O'Henry, this is a quiet, nostalgic film.

Als Kathi am nächsten Morgen heimlich eine Kurznachricht auf seinem Handy liest, knallen ihre Hoffnungen, Ängste und Vorurteile brutal aufeinander.
Kathi has an overweigth problem. On a night out with a good friend, she gets to know a young man. They end up spending the night together. But the next morning, after she reads a message on his phone, her hopes, wishes and fears clash.
