"Wenn man als Autofahrer die Transitstrasse benutzt, um möglichst schnell die Stadt zu durchqueren,
passiert man die Weststrasse beinahe unbemerkt, als ob man durch einen Tunnel fährt. Die Menschen
an dieser Strasse verschwinden hinter den Fassaden, um dem Lärm und den Abgasen schnellstmöglich
zu entfliehen. Monoton beschleunigt und hält die Blechlawine, wie ferngesteuert:
STOP-and-GO!
Auch die Menschen werden heute von hohem Tempo und abruptem Stillstand geprägt. In ihren
Zufluchtsorten wird das Leben von Kurzlebigkeit bestimmt. Sie bauen dort isoliert von der Aussenwelt
ihre eigenen Universen, in denen sie nach absoluter Befriedigung, dem ultimativen Kick oder süsser
Geborgenheit streben. Meine Bilder sind Bestandesaufnahmen von suchenden Menschen, die parallel zu
der normalen ästhetisierten Welt existieren und im Gegensatz zum chicen Zürcher Alltag wie eine
Entzündung wirken: Das Leben der Menschen ist von Verbrauch, Verletzung und Hoffnung geprägt. Die
Schnelllebigkeit, das Stop-and-Go, hinterlässt ihre Spuren. Mit meiner Arbeit zeige ich den Zeitgeist einer
Gesellschaft in überspitzter Situation auf."
