InOctober is a network of art academies and institutions that aims to concentrate and deepen research and teaching on relevant public topics and artistic phenomena. It is a center of expertise for education, research and teaching in the field of contemporary public art.
The network initiates sustainable and long-term exchange and cooperation with advanced and innovative partner institutions around the world and their researchers, students and lecturers. It promotes university discourse, brings teaching and research closer together and enables the transfer of ideas and results from research to the younger generation of artists. It assembles institutions that are locally anchored and strongly connected with other local institutions.
InOctober forms the framework for the October School, a recurring, open and flexible teaching and research format that functions as the backbone of the network.
