      • Lernziele / Kompetenzen:
        Künstlerische Arbeit wird weg vom medienspezifischen und antiquiertem Geniekult als eine gemeinschaftliche Praxis erfahren, die mit einfachen Mitteln ein breites Publikum erreicht und dabei – sofern sie das will – auch eine aktivistische Dimension hervorbringen kann. Während dieser Exkursion kommen die Studierenden gerade durch den kollaborativen Charakter der in Teams zu erstellenden Zines mit den Erfahrungshorizonten von japanischen Studierenden in Berührung. Darüber hinaus lernen sie aber auch Institutionen und Akteur*innen in ihren Netzwerken vor Ort kennen und zu verstehen, was längerfristig zur Internationalisierung in beide Richtungen beiträgt.
        Durch das Ansprechen der historischen Dimension des Formates und der räumlichen Layouts vor Ort sind die Studierenden dazu angehalten nicht nur über “öffentlichen Raum” als universell, gültige abstrakte Kategorie nachzudenken, sondern sich insbesondere mit situiertem Wissen und spezifischen Herausforderungen wie beispielsweise den aktuellen Umweltbedingungen oder den Konsequenzen der Atomverseuchung im Umkreis von Fukushima am Vorabend der Olympiade 2020 auseinanderzusetzen.

        Zweiwöchiges Kooperationsprojekt mit der Tokyo Polytechnika University, Tokio

        Studierende: 12 ZHdK und 12 Tokyo Polytechnika University (in Teams)

        Thema: Öffentlicher Raum / Städtebau / Architektur / Öffentlich vs. Privat

        Form: Produktion von Zines und einer Ausstellung von den entstandenen Zines sowie den Zines aus Zürich der letzten Jahre.

        Zines sind mit vorhandenen Möglichkeiten, von A bis Z selbst hergestellte Publikationen mit kleiner Auflage, die unabhängig vertrieben werden. Hervorgegangen aus der Do-It-Yourself-Kultur der Punk-Bewegung hat sich dieses Format in den letzten Jahrzehnten zu einer nicht zu unterschätzenden Möglichkeit entwickelt, selbstbestimmt andere Formen von Öffentlichkeit zu schaffen. Die TeilnehmerInnen recherchieren in gemischten Gruppen vor Ort und produzieren ein Zine in einer Auflage von mindestens 30 Stück.
