Description	Wilhelm Tell reloaded - Die Volksinitiative gegen Masseneinwanderung unter einem kulturanalytischen BlickwinkelAm Beispiel der Masseneinwanderungsinitiative der SVP (2014) wird kulturanalytisch aufgezeigt, wie Bedeutung generiert wird. Auf narrativer Ebene spielt das kulturelle Gedächtnis in Zusammenhang mit Mystifizierungen eine zentrale Rolle. Der Mythos stiftet Identität, nicht zuletzt dann, wenn er in einer Abgrenzung zum Anderen fusst.

  Die mediale Arbeit wurde in San Francisco, Kalifornien, realisiert. Acht Personen wurden
  gebeten, sich mit einer Armbrust für ein Foto zu positionieren. Die Armbrust steht symbolisch
  für den Schweizer Mythos des Freiheitsbzw. Unabhängigkeitskampfes. Vermittels dieser im
  kulturellen Gedächtnis der Schweiz tief verankerten Geste wird der Mythos in seiner
  nationalen Abgrenzung gesprengt. Zugleich wird er mit einer – ironisch subversiven –
  Diversität aufgeladen. Die Bilder arbeiten mit dem unstabilen Charakter von Bedeutung und
  treten in den Kampf ein um Repräsentation.
