GLOW ist ein Dokumentarfilm über Irene Staub aka Lady Shiva mit Musik von Michael Künstle. Die Filmmusik von GLOW fokussiert insbesondere auf den Charakter der Protagonistin und 80er-Jahre-Ikone „Lady Shiva“, welcher äusserst expressiv nach aussen gewesen sei, doch im Innersten wahnsinnig fragil und zerbrechlich.
Die Idee hinter der Filmmusik war, diesen Gegensatz einzufangen: Einerseits interpretieren die Solisten die Themen wahnsinnig fein, fast schon unhörbar, doch dank sehr naher Mikrofonierung wird diese intime und fragile Stimmung schön eingefangen. Andererseits spielt der Score mit pulsierenden, urbanen und energiegeladenen Klängen.
GLOW is a documentary about Irene Staub aka Lady Shiva, one of the greatest of all Swiss divas. Michael Künstle composed the Soundtrack, which especially focuses on the very eccentric outgoing character of the Protagonist, which was at the same time very fragil on the inside. The concept of the soundtrack was to catch this contrast: On the one hand the themes are interpreted in a very subtle way by the soloists, almost not audible, but through very close positioning of the microphones during the recording it was possible to get this intimacy on to the soundtrack, which also plays with pulsing, urban and energetic sounds.
