Im Stück «Die wilden Kerle» nach Maurice Sendak begegnen sich ein Musiker, eine Videokünstlerin, ein Kind, ein Schauspieler mit Down Syndrom, eine Performancekünstlerin und eine Tänzerin. Gemeinsam erschaffen sie eine Welt, in der auf jegliche Wertung verzichtet wird. Auch wenn die DarstellerInnen des Stücks im Alltag eher wenig Berührungspunkte haben, begegnen sie sich auf der Bühne auf Augenhöhe. Sie begeben sich mittels einer von Musik und Körper dominierten Sprache in ein wildes Spiel miteinander und fordern sich gegenseitig heraus. Ausgehend von einem fast leeren Raum füllen sie ihre Welt nach und nach mit Material, Videoprojektion, Bewegung und Musik.
Der Bilderbuchklassiker «Where the wild things are» von Maurice Sendak diente zur Inspiration, es wurden Motive daraus abgeleitet und frei interpretiert. Das Stück lässt viel Assoziationsraum für das Publikum zu, verläuft manchmal zu lautstarkem Chaos, wird dann aber wieder von zarten Momenten abgelöst.

The play "Where the Where the Wild Things are", referring back to Maurice Sendak's famous book, portrays the encounter between a musician, a female video artist, a child, an actor with Down syndrome, a female performance artist and a dancer. Together they create a world that operates entirely without value judgements. While the performers in the play have little to do with each other in their everyday lives, they meet on the stage as equals. Using a language dominated by music and physical movement, they engage in a wild game, challenging each other. Starting from an almost empty space, they progressively fill their world with material, video projection, movement and music.
The picture book classic "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak provided the inspiration for the work, a source of motifs for free adaptation and interpretation. The play leaves ample scope for associations to be formed in the minds of the audience, alternating between loud, noisy chaos and tender moments.
