Beschreibung | - Through this project, WATERING, I tried to construct a language that proposes to perceive human bodies as bodies of water & part of the landscape. In this process, the Marmara Sea was the body of water that grounded and situated my practice and I developed an artistic methodology that carries certain qualities and sensitivities to attend, embody, and communicate with the landscapes and our surroundings in an intimate way thanks to this sea. There wasn't an intention of mastering, but getting closer and tender through artistic practice to shift our approach to bodies of water, climate crisis, our surroundings and the weather. So, in this book, one could encounter the possible acts of repair in the face of the climate crisis and human exceptionalism through a visual and written language that has multiple perspectives and embodies questions about the Anthropocene with an eco-feminist focus.
