The music of Trio Heinz Herbert suggests humanity gazing at the stars –
urban, at times frantic, but leaving space to breathe. This is music from (non-picture-postcard) Switzerland, but intended for an international audience.
Electric guitar, electronic sounds, Hammond organ, samples and percussion become instruments for augmenting the present. The trio follow where the sounds take them, return to a pattern on the drum machine, then drift off into the spheres of minimal music and industrial jazz. Far removed from the usual self-indulgence, improvisation here becomes a force for the constant transformation of unwritten music.
These young musicians are looking straight into outer space, with no smog to obscure the view.
