Beschreibung	Der Musiker SY-the-Brain stellt sich der Wissenschaft zu Verfügung. Er ist der erste Komponist weltweit, dessen Hirn vom Restkörper abgetrennt und an die Hirnmusikmaschine angeschlossen wird. Seine imaginierte Musik wird von nun an mittels Neurotechnik direkt ausgestrahlt. Haben Sie auch schon mal einen dämlichen Popsong für Stunden mit sich im Kopf herumgetragen? Dies ist ein interessantes Phänomen für Klanggestalter und Musizierende: Die Musik im Kopf lässt sich auch durch reine Gedankenspielerei kreieren und durch blosses Denken transformieren. Professionell Musizierende können in Gedanken akustisch hineinzoomen, einzelne Instrumente und Klänge extrahieren, weglassen, hinzufügen, modulieren und die Lautstärke anpassen. Wie hören sich imaginierte Klangereignisse an? Welches Potential steckt in diesen mentalen Kompositionen? Welche musikalischen Perspektiven eröffnen sich damit? Lässt sich die Musik im Kopf anzapfen, damit wir sie im Lautsprecher hören können? Für die Suche nach Antworten bietet sich die Neurowissenschaft als geradezu ideale Disziplin an. Die Erkenntnisse aus der Hirnforschung sind vielversprechend und führen zur Hauptthese, die dem Hörspiel-Szenario von «Hirnmusik» zugrunde gelegt ist: Menschen werden in naher Zukunft imaginierte Musik mittels Neurotechnik hörbar machen können. Vorerst ist diese Behauptung reine Fiktion, mit Bezügen zu aktuellen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen, untermauert mit Aussagen von Komponistinnen und Musikern, gespickt mit philosophischen Reflexionen. Die Arbeit umfasst das Hörspielskript für die persönliche mentale Umsetzung, angereichert mit Kommentaren, Reflexionen und Referenzen – und die klangliche Umsetzung des Hörspiels in Schallwellen.
