Beschreibung | - After her internship at Helmhaus, Fanny Frey decided to propose a new art mediation concept for the Zurich-based museum. In her thesis, she researches creative placemaking and sociology of space to create an engaging and inclusive art mediation concept for Helmhaus. The thesis includes a case study examining Tate Exchange (Tate Modern, London), Las Agencias (MACBA, Barcelona) and the Löwenbräu (Zurich). Furthermore, Fanny Frey conducted elaborate genealogical research on the terms placemaking and space. Finally, the three-part concept «RE Helmhaus» is introduced; it is based on three pillars: re-thinking, re-visiting and re-claiming. The concept aims to enhance the visitor experience concerning art and to provide a roadmap for creating a dynamic art mediation program at the Helmhaus to contribute to the cultural and social vitality of the local community.
