Im Rahmen eines Vertiefungsprojekts wählen Teilnehmende des CAS Fundamentals of Typography ein Thema aus einem der fünf Semestermodule. Ausgangslage für Simon Hofstede waren Schriftentwürfe aus dem Modul «Zeichen, Wort, Marke». Diese hat er vektorisiert und zu einer digitalen Schrift weiterentwickelt. Markante Einschnitte neben geometrisch runden Formen prägen die Erscheinung der Schrift «Pold».
Entstanden ist eine Schrift, die so lecker aussieht, dass sie sich hervorragend für Brand Designs im Foodbereich eignet.
Eine kleine Auflage an Merchandise Produkten zeigt den Humor und das Potenzial dieses Projekts.
As part of an in-depth project, participants of the CAS Fundamentals of Typography choose a topic from one of the five semester modules. Simon Hofstede's starting point was font designs from the module “Sign, Word, Brand”. He vectorised these sketches and developed them further into a digital font. Striking ink traps combined with round geometric shapes add character to the look of the “Pold” typeface.
The result is a font that looks so delicious that it is ideal for brand designs in the food sector.
A small edition of merchandise products shows the humour and potential of this project.
