home of the waterbird::mujer del agua is an embodied exploration delving into the realm of shamanic memories and their interplay with the physical plane of Middle World where dreams are materialised into form. Through a performative ritual, the work experiences a rebirth of its spiritual process into the exhibition merging the duality of the artist archetype with the figure of the shaman, as an attempt to experience the zero state of life. Tracing back to the genesis of time, we are in the space between life and death, awakening to the now, a space where unity and duality merge to birth a new dimension. In the shamanic rite of gratitude the water spirit emerges from the womb of the waterbird, genesis of all life.
In close relationship to my plant teachers*, present as part of the installation, i learn to listen to their voices in a quest of understanding truth in coexistance and the realization of dreams within the interconnected web of life. The work shows embodied fragments of this journey.
*The main teachers in my journey are the plant medicines mama cacao, abuelito huachuma, abuelita ayahuasca and amanita muscaria.
