It is a VR experience created by Anna Michel from HSLu. It is partially interactive. Here is her description of the project:
"An interactive, animated, virtual reality experience made using mixed media and a touch of Nostalgia.
Quête de Lumière removes us from our familiar surroundings to transport us to a forest-like space where we help motivate a lonely frog to achieve his goals and meet the moth queen who reveals to us what she hides in her crown."
This project was developed on Unity and I made both music and sound design, and implemented them in Fmod. The main concept for music and sound was that they would be both complementary and quite abstract. I originally started with more realistic sounds, but Anna wanted me to go more into hyper-realism. The sound effects are less illustrative and were generated through basic objects such as glass beads and a cristal bowl, all heavily processed through effects such as cross synthesis or granular synthesis. In other words, the whole sound design was approached through the scope of musical composition, in order to follow coherently Quête de Lumière's aesthetic concept.
I added a few examples of my SFX in this dossier. Sometimes, you have several instances of the same sound. This is because the experience was interactive. I could use multi instrument tracks on Fmod to make it more interesting.
