Das Projekt «Learning from Inequality» ermöglicht dank einer grosszügigen Unterstützung der Schweizerischen Agentur für Austausch und Mobilität «Movetia» den Austausch mit Partnerinstitutionen aus Weltregionen, die im Vergleich zur Schweiz eine grosse Ungleichheit und gleichzeitig sehr unterschiedliche Rahmenbedingungen aufweisen.
Konkret konnten zwischen 2020 und 2022 drei Studierende aus Suchum/i und Havanna sowie eine Studierende aus der Schweiz von einem Stipendium profitieren, um an der ZHdK und in Kuba einen Teil ihres Studiums zu absolvieren. 2023 werden weitere Dozierende und Studierende eingeladen.
Die Covid-Pandemie und der Krieg in der Ukraine haben die Umsetzung des Projekts massiv erschwert. Es wurden jedoch viele Erkenntnisse darüber gewonnen, was in derart ungleichen Situationen einerseits möglich ist, andererseits aber auch unüberwindbare Hindernisse darstellt.
Diese Erkenntnisse werden am 2023 ZHdK International Day zum Thema «Arts and Peacebuilding» geteilt.

Thanks to generous support from “Movetia”, the Swiss Agency for Exchange and Mobility, the “Learning from Inequality” project enables exchanges with partner institutions from regions of the world that share a great inequality in relation to Switzerland, but at the same time have very different framework conditions.
Concretely, between 2020 and 2022, three students from Suchum/i and Havanna and one student from Switzerland were able to benefit from a scholarship to complete part of their studies at ZHdK and in Cuba. More lecturers and students will be invited in 2023.
The covid pandemic and the war in Ukraine have made the realisation of the project massively difficult. However, many insights were gained into what is possible in such unequal situations on the one hand, and, on the other hand, where the obstacles are also impossible to overcome.
These insights will be shared at the 2023 ZHdK International Day on the topic of “Arts and Peacebuilding”.
