| Beschreibung | - «Gälische Poesie der Natur» ist ein Forschungsprojekt, das im Norden Schottlands stattfindet, wo Schottisch-Gälisch die gesprochene Sprache ist. Das Projekt untersucht die Art und Weise, wie die Sprache, insbesondere in der Poesie und beim Schreiben von Liedern, verwendet wird, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf der Präsenz der Natur liegt. Weiter beleuchtet das Projekt auch die Rolle des gälischen «Songwritings» und der gälischen Poesie innerhalb der Gemeinschaft. Zoé Kendall beobachtet die Veränderung, der im Laufe der Zeit mündlich überlieferten Geschichten und Erzählungen über die Natur und der Landethik. Die Geschichten werden parallel zum Naturschutz, zur Wiederaufforstung in Schottland, insbesondere in Bezug auf Salzwiesen und Torfmoore und deren Verbindung zur Identität und Sprache verknüpft.
Das Ziel ist, Wissen über das Land durch Geschichten und Sprache zu transkribieren. Das Buch enthält Transkriptionen von Vorträgen von Förster:innen, Künstler:innen und Landwirt:innen, welche die Debatten und Diskussionen ans Licht bringen, die aktuell rund um das Land stattfinden. Ziel ist auch, den Dialog abzubilden, der über Natur, Land, Bildende Kunst, das geschriebene Wort, Gemeinschaft und Identität stattfindet.
Im Projekt werden auch Ansätze des Naturschutzes und der Kunst hinterfragt und es sollen weitere Fragen zur Erhaltung der Natur (im weitesten Sinne des Wortes), sowie Ideen zur Erhaltung des Landes gestellt werden. Schliesslich wirft die Künstlerin einen Blick auf die Anpassung und Innovation der gälischen Sprache, die Werte und das Wissen, die Sprache in sich trägt, und die Form, über die sie heute weltweit in der Kunstwelt verfügt. Ein besonderer Fokus wird dabei auf die nuancenreiche Sprache gelegt, mit welcher die Natur beschrieben wird. Mit den ökologischen, ethischen und ästhetischen Konzepten des Landes, die visuell alle in einem Buch zusammengefasst sind, können Künstler:innen hoffentlich die Informationen nutzen und das Wissen in ihren Werken umsetzen oder allgemein in ihre Praxis einfliessen lassen.

| Beschreibung auf englisch | - “Gaelic Poetry of Nature” is a research project that will take place in the North of Scotland where Scottish Gaelic is the spoken language. The project will be looking into the way the language is used more specifically in poetry and songwriting with a focus on the presence of nature. Zoé Kendall will examine the oral histories and narratives of nature and land ethics. The stories are linked to nature preservation, reforestation, particularly ecosystems of peat bogs, salt marshes and their connection to identity and language.
The goal is to transcribe knowledge of the land through stories and language. The book contains transcriptions of lectures by foresters, artists and farmers that bring to light the debates and discussions currently taking place around the country. The aim is to show the dialogue that takes place across nature, land, visual art, the written word, community and identity. The project also questions approaches to nature conservation and approaches to art and asks further questions about the preservation (in the broadest sense of the word) as well as ideas for preserving the land. And finally, Zoé Kendall will look at the adaptation and innovation of the Gaelic language, the values and knowledge the language carries. A special focus is placed on the nuanced language used to describe nature. With the country's ecological, ethical and aesthetic concepts all brought together in one visual book, artists can hopefully use the information and implement the knowledge in their works or generally incorporate into their practice.
