«The Moon and I» ist ein Animationsfilm über einen Albino Jungen, der in einem kleinen Dorf in Afrika geboren wurde. Die Geschichte basiert auf wahren Fakten und steht im Zusammenhang mit der Verfolgung von Albinos in Tansania und in anderen Ländern Afrikas. Im Aberglauben, dass Albinos magische Kräfte hätten, werden sie verfolgt und
ihre Körper(-teile) verkauft und für schwarze Magie veruntreut. Der Animationsfilm richtet sich an ein erwachsenes Publikum und soll auf das Schicksal der Albinos aufmerksam
machen, auf Formen der Diskriminierung, Unterdrückung bis hin zur tödlichen Verfolgung aufgrund gescheiterter Menschenrechte. Das Projekt ist eine Kollaboration zwischen einem Animation Studenten der Hochschule Luzern und Filmmusik-Masterstudierenden der ZHdK.
"The Moon and I" is an animated film about an albino boy who was born in a small village in Africa. The story is based on true facts and is related to the persecution of albinos in Tanzania and other African countries. In superstitious beliefs albinos have magical powers and therefore are persecuted and their bodies sold for the purpose of black magic. The animated film is aimed at an adult audience and is intended to draw attention to the fate of albinos. The main focus of the project lies on forms of discrimination, oppression and the failure of human rights. The project is a collaboration between an animation student of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and film music master students of the ZHdK.
